Spencer Pond Camps - The Sowangan (original name and also called the Skip Wiley)

Means "Eagle Nest" in Abenaki language.The newest cabin built by Chick and Anne Howe. Originally known as the Skip Wiley after two faithful dog companions that befriended each other.. . . they both "helped" build the cabin and constantly got in the way. Return to the days of Little House in the Big Woods in this one room cabin. Two twin beds (or one king). Sits up from the shore on the edge of the woods. This cabin has an excellent porch from which to bird watch or sit and watch the many snowshoe hares that frequent the campground. If you listen quietly you may even hear the peaceful chirping of the mother Ruffed Grouse who has made her home in the woods behind the cabin.
